You’ve got a rebate on your newly purchased appliance, and whether the rebate is for $10 or $200, you want to make sure that you get what you deserve.
Follow this list for success:
- Follow the instructions to the letter. If you need a receipt and the price must be circled, send the receipt and circle the price. Make a copy of everything you are sending to the company for your records. If there are questions you have additional proof.
- Don’t try to scam the company by getting more than you should. If the rebate says “One per household,” then stick to the rules.
- Make sure that the rebate is really worth it. When a company uses rebates they are trying to attract new customers; make sure the rebate is worth your time and is really saving you money.
- If you have questions about anything, before you send in the rebate, go to the website and get the information you need. Some companies use a system called kissinsights.com. What this means to you is that you can go on the company’s site, ask a question, and get an answer from the company in the next few minutes. This process is called real-time feedback and is a fantastic option companies are putting into place to help their customers.
- Be patient. Getting your rebate usually takes weeks, sometimes months. The good news is that some companies allow you to check your current status online.
Getting your rebate isn’t all that hard; but you need to follow the instructions given and wait patiently for your return.
